When I first decided to go to the Ultimate Block Party, I assumed it would be fun, but it was soooo much more than that!
Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed by the amount of people running around and the 70 page (yes, 70 page) booklet I was given when I arrived which explained all there was to do.
My first thought: I have to read??!! I read contracts all week! But the "Playbook" was actually great. It gave step-by-step instructions on each activity and boy was there a lot to do! There were scavenger hunts, live events, dance parties, play restaurants, sing-a-longs and different "missions" for kids to complete in order to win prizes. So, as you can imagine, I wasn't sure where to begin! But we made our way through, and as we...
played Simon Says with Sean from The Sunny Side Up Show...
and built Lego skyscrapers using tons of green legos...and
engineered a "water park" out of blue foam forms with Imagination Playground...and
made Crayola Model Magic Presto Dots pals...
I realized what a great event this really was.
The Ultimate Block Party wasn't great just because there was so much to do. It was great because the organizers really followed through on making sure that each activity used some sort of skill inherent in all children.
The Ultimate Block Party was all about using your imagination to spark creativity. The best part? It was exciting and there wasn't a kid in sight that was full of sugar. Each activity used something more than adreneline to engage the children. They all seemed to be fueled by pure curiosity, and that's what made the event a success in my eyes.
Hope you had a chance to go, if you did, tell me about it! If you didn't go, make sure to attend next year!!
Here's to sugar-free fun and loads of imagination for all of our kiddies!
