What's Up, City Kid?! - Graffiti + Flip Books

Screen Shot 2015-01-23 at 5.51.46 PM

There is art everywhere in NYC. Whether you watch someone singing on the subway, or see a mural on the metal gates of a closed store, there are so many places to get inspired by creativity. We were excited to visit the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY) for their City As Canvas exhibit and learn all about the history of street art, see some really cool pieces from the some of the most prolific graffiti writers and make grafitti flip books. The City As Canvas exhibit is no longer at the museum, but they have so many great exhibits and free craft workshops, you have to check them out!  To see Tristin and Tyler's fun visit, check out the VIDEO HERE or click the image above (if you can't see it below).

Do your kiddos have a favorite museum for art? Do your kids notice art in places besides the expected? This weekend is the perfect time to head to a museum and see what new (or old) exhibits inspire you -- if you're in New York, I definitely recomment MCNY!

How To Rock Halloween w/ Chasing Fireflies

Don't be scared boys and galz, it's just your friendly gargoyle and skeleton knight all set for Halloween thanks to Chasing Fireflies!

Much to my chagrin, my little dudes have been selecting Halloween costumes that have become increasingly scary over the years. Is that what pre-tweens like? Ugh! But, creepiness and all, I am so impressed by the level of detail and quality in these costumes by Chasing Fireflies.  Have you checked out their site? From hot dogs, pirates to fairies and more, they boast a serious selection of costumes.

The boys are truly into scaring people these days, so I like that these costumes work well for them to play in too -- not just a one-time use for Halloween.  The other day Tristin wore this glow-in-the-dark skeleton hoodie and the gargoyle wings out and about in our neighborhood.  I was so worried he was going to mess up the wings and wouldn't have them for Halloween, but again, the quality held it all together -- and Tristin does love to play rough!

Make sure to check out Chasing Fireflies here! You have plenty of time to get costumes shipped right to your door (I loved that too, no pushing and shoving at the pop-up costume stores).  Happy shopping!

Tristin + Tyler Dress Like Dad: Part 2

I am so in love wth styling the kids and taking photos now. I think I am getting better and better. I can almost say I like shooting photography more than shooting video...almost.  In Dress Like Dad for Father's Day Part 2, Tristin is dressing like the sporty dad. You know, the one that works in technology or fashion? Real cool, but a tad sophisticated. Yea, that one.  Did you see Part 1 where Tyler showed you a little preppy hipster?  Check it here. What you'll notice most in these shots is that Tris is sporting a ton of Target items. Target sent these items for the boys to check out. I've always shopped at Target for tees, but check out the hoodie and the camo shorts! I'm in love. Affordable, super cute and comfortable. Can't beat it.  I also love the Stinky McGee bow tie-- did you know they have father + son matching ties for sale? Adorbs.  Hope you guys have an awesome time this wekeend with your favorite dudes that are dads. Let me know what you think of the photos below, do you know a dad who would dress like this, or should dress like this, hee hee? xx

Tristin & Tyler's Threads: Stella McCartney Kids Part 2

For most New Yorker's yesterday was the first day of school. How was it for you? The boys actually came home very excited about it all which was nice to see! Wait till they start getting homework - oh how the tables will turn!

So, to end the first week of school I wanted to show you another set of cool photos with the boys in Stella McCartney Kids. Did you see our first Stella Kids post?

Check out these shirts! Love the collar, love the subtle details, and lastly, I love how soft the fabric is. I am big on being comfortable, and everything they have worn from Stella has been super soft.

They are also wearing fitz chinos and hiking boots all by Stella McCartney Kids. What do you think?

I love these photos, kinda editorial don't ya think?

Remember the detail in the shirts I mentioned? Look at the bottom edge - LOVE IT!  I'm getting pretty good at photography, huh? hee hee

Friday Finds: Pale Cloud

What makes kids clothes so cool these days? The styles are just what we adults would wear!  I love it, the tailoring, layering, so cute! Check out Pale Cloud's Spring/Summer 2012 line, for example --- can you say ADORABLE? They pay such close attention to detail. Check out the Stella navy blazer below -- did you notice the end of the sleeves? Genius!

I don't have a little girl, but if I did, I know the BEST part would be dressing her up in beautiful dresses and making her look like a regal princess.  Pale Cloud's Fall 2012 Campaign has exactly what my princess would wear --- so much colonial/period flair! Do you adore it, I do!
